Thunderhawk Performance has developed a high flow Uni Filter kit for the Kawasaki Mule 610 and Mule 600. This kit includes the Uni Filter element and all necessary installation hardware for the Mule 610/600. The filter is installed in the stock airbox, in order to provide protection from water and to maintain reliability for daily use under all conditions. This Uni Filter kit provides increased airflow, improved filtration and eliminates the need to buy replacement filters.

Foam air filters are preferred by many for use in dusty off-road environments. Uni Filter has been manufacturing high flow foam air filters since 1971. The Uni Filter's polyurethane foam construction provides minimal restriction to airflow and superior filtration capabilities. The open cell polyurethane foam is wetted with specially developed filter oil. This "sticky" filter oil is suspended in the path of the incoming dirty air, on the strands of the web like cell structure of the foam. This makes it impossible for dirt to pass through the depth of the filter without sticking to the oiled strands. As the outer strands become loaded with dirt particles and can no longer effectively trap the incoming dirt the oil-wetted strands downstream are able to trap this dirt, allowing the entire thickness of the foam filter to be utilized. This open cell foam design prevents surface loading or air restriction for 80% of the service life of the air filter element. When the filter is sufficiently dirty, it can be easily washed, re-oiled, and re-used.

Proper oiling and maintenance of the filter is critical to achieve maximum engine protection and performance. Be sure to carefully read the instructions included with every Uni Filter, and follow these instructions for optimum performance. Uni Filters must be oiled before use. When cleaning the Uni Filter, the filter element must thoroughly dry prior to being re-oiled. For this reason, many people choose to purchase a second Uni Filter element so that they can simply replace the dirty filter, continue riding, and then clean the dirty filter later. Oil and cleaner for the Uni Filter is sold separately (order Thunderhawk part number ZZ6399A).
